First Eucharist is also known as First Holy Communion. The word ‘Eucharist’ is from a Greek word meaning ‘thanksgiving’ and the word ‘communion’ means to be ‘united with’. In the Catholic tradition we regularly come together for the celebration of the Eucharist. It is not a private devotion but rather a communal gathering much like a family meal.
Preparation is usually completed as part of the Parish school curriculum.
If your child attends an alternative school but would like to receive catechesis through the Parish, please contact the Parish Office for an enrolment form.
Please note that in 2020 there will be no First Eucharist celebrated in our Parish. Children who will celebrate their Reconciliation this year will enroll in First Eucharist in 2021 to be celebrated on the weekends of 1-2 May and 8-9 May 2021.
