First Eucharist
First Eucharist is also known as First Holy Communion. The word ‘Eucharist’ is from a Greek word meaning ‘thanksgiving’ and the word ‘communion’ means to be ‘united with’. In the Catholic tradition we regularly come together for the celebration of the Eucharist. It is not a private devotion but rather a communal gathering much like a family meal.
Preparation is usually completed as part of the Parish school curriculum.
For Grade 3 (or above) children who do not attend one of our parish schools, the First Eucharist Program will be offered in 2024.
